National security, freedom of speech at the heart of Frederick author's debut suspense novel, 'The Unsanctioned'
The seed for the book was planted when Lamke was in a graduate school program at Texas A&M University that focused on national security. A research topic of interest was the influence of the Internet on terrorism and extremist behavior. "I thought that how Internet extremists affect national security and how a country's government reacts to that would be a good book topic," he said.
